Press Release – Thousands raised by crematorium

Posted on 12 December 2016

On Wednesday 16th November, 2016, Teresa Kearney, Superintendent/Registrar,
South West Middlesex Crematorium, presented a cheque for £4,337.00 to The Marie
Curie Charity, in the crematorium grounds. The charity was nominated for its
continued support to the dying and the bereaved. Emma Dolman thanked the
crematorium for the kind donation and confirmed it will be used to “deliver expert hands
on care, emotional support, research guidance, helping people living with a terminal
illness”. Mrs. Angela Bradley, whose husband James died of cancer, said “the Marie
Curie nurses were wonderful and helped my family and myself through a very hard
time”. This donation was made in his memory.
The monies donated by The South West Middlesex Crematorium Board are a direct
result of the metal recycling scheme run in association with the Institute of Cemetery
and Crematorium Management (ICCM), aimed at making donations to healthcare
charities throughout the UK. Recycling only takes place with the written consent of
each bereaved family as their needs are paramount to all the organisations involved.
Teresa Kearney said “The Crematorium is delighted that the Marie Curie charity has
benefitted from the ICCM recycling scheme, as the charity offers invaluable support to
families and the terminally ill throughout the country
